Sheep May Safely Graze

Here’s a go at J S Bach’s lovely piece, Sheep May Safely Graze, as close as I can make it on melodeon. I’m playing the first couple of minutes of it only, roughly, since after then it changes key *lots* of times, and goes from being fairly difficult to downright impossible. Not many melodeon versions of this on youtube, for very good reasons.

Played on a Van der Aa Compact III melodeon in G/C, transposed down 3 semitones to being mostly in G rather the original key of Bb.

Amour et Printemps

Classic french waltz, played for Melodeon.net’s April 2022 – Spring. Learned from the playing of english group Rosbif, and written by french composer Émile Waldteufel. I’m playing it on a Hohner Club I in C/F.

Shepherd and Shepherdess

Here’s Melodeon.net’s tune of the month for April 2022 – a new one on me.

UK group Boldwood found and recorded this – according to their sleevenotes is from unpublished manuscripts in the Vaughan Williams Library, Cecil Sharp House, London.

Played on a D/G Castagnari Mory in G – in this key, it needs a low C which I have on the half row.
