Two lovely tunes, paired under the banner of Melodeon.net’s theme of the month for August 2014, War and Peace. Thaxted is the tune to the hymn ‘I Vow to Thee My Country’, a common hymn sung at remembrance services; Flowers of the Forest is an old Scottish melody, often simply referred to as ‘The Lament’ at Commonwealth remembrance ceremonies.
